About Us

The Little Boat Shop was founded in 1990 by boatbuilder Steve Bussiere I spent my childhood summers growing up in Cameron Point Maine on Southport Island surrounded by schools of beautiful wooden boats of all styles. My hands have been in the wood for over forty years and he has built hundreds of boats for my clients as well as with my student builders in our unique "Build a Boat Program".


The Little Boat Shop has hosted a variety of programs for young adults from all over the state teaching them the skills and appreciation of the craft. All of these programs were beneficial to the young adults who really did a fine job. They also learned real world skills that they will be able to use to work for another company or even themselves.

Please take your time to review and enjoy our site as I am sure that you may find something that will interest you personally or your organization. Our programs are informal and the scheduling is flexible. Boatbuilding is no mystery and a lot of fun.
