What's New

There is a special place, a very special place where you can come and build or have built your perfect wooden boat. The Little Boat Shop is pleased to announce the opening of our Division in Maine: Lincolnville Boat Works.

Lincolnville Harbor, a few minutes from the shop. If you look losely at the dingy dock all the boats are wooden.
We have purchased the centerpiece of the old McKinney Dairy Farm. We are nestled In the midst of 146 acres of the beautiful Camden Hills. Work has just been completed converting the Dairy Barn to our Boat Shop and we are open and are in production. The main house was built in 1850 and is currently being restored. When all completed we will have over 15,000 sf of working and storage space. Our neighbors are the Beautiful Camden Hills.

Underway we have a custom 21' Handy Billy under Construction. John Gardner's 16' Banks Dory, Restoration of a 60's Beetle Cat, a 19' Lyman undergoing restoration. Our Award Wining Redwings 19'-6'' Open Launch, and the 20'-6'' SE are being spruced up for rentals in either the bay or in one of five beautiful fresh water lakes that surround us. These are powered with the Ray Electric motor and are just a joy for poking around. Our 21' Open Launch is scheduled for completion and will be powered with the Honda 20 hp 4-Stroke and also be available. We will also offer traditional row boats as well as day sailors. We have a guest from Wisconsin joining us in June to build a Shellback with us.

Catering for the Launch rentals is also available.

We are 15 minutes to Penobscot Bay, Lincolnville Beach, Camden, and to Belfast.

You can write or email for addition information. Our Mailing address is P.O. Box 224 Lincolnville Center, ME 04850. Our shop, Lincolnville Boat Works is located at 2243 Belfast Road, Lincolnville ME.

These are a sampling of what we have planned. Of course, I would be glad to discuss any design with you if you have a favorite in mind. Most of these designs require a basic knowledge of woodworking but do not be intimidated as the instruction is on a one to one basis with myself as your instructor. The scheduling is flexible. Our program is informal and when your project is completed you can be sure that you will have a boat that you can not only be proud of but will have been built to the highest standards available today.

Space is limited and most of these designs will require that you spend the winter season with us to complete your project.

Each boat is individually priced and I would be happy to meet with you to discuss the costs. If you are interested in building your own boat please call to make an appointment to meet with me.
