Redwing Series

The Redwing is a wonderful economical boat that was originally designed by Howard Chapelle. Naval Architect Karl Stambaugh re-designed her using modern methods of boatbuilding. The boat was originally designed for backwater exploration as she has a flat bottom and is powered by either electric or 4-stroke in an aft enclosed well. We also build the boat with a V hull or what is called a deadrise hull for use is more active waters.

We build the boat from 18'-6'' to 26' and with a variety of formats. All are boats are framed with mahogany and planked with BS 1088 Marine Plywood. The bottom and topsides are glassed with 10 oz. Fiberglass cloth and the whole boat is encapsulated with minimum of three coats of West System Epoxy.

Interior arrangements can be customized to suit your specific needs. We also off a variety of option including sprung laid teak decks to Hardtop canopies.

We recommend the Ray Electric Outboard for our launches built to 21'. It is a marvelous motor and mounted in our enclosed insulated well she is silent. Perfect for nice day on the water.

The 4-stroke Honda or Yamaha motor is recommended if conventional power is your preference.

Please feel free to call me and I would be glad to discuss your persona preferences and provide you with an estimate to build the boat. We can built her turn-key or leave some painting and finishing to you if you wish.

At the moment we have a 21' and 18'-6'' Cruiser available for spring 2005 delivery. The 21' can be built out as either a camper, Pilot House, or Open Launch.
