Shellback Dinghy
Length: 11' 2" | Beam: 4' 3"

The "Shellback" by far has been our most popular boat to build and from looking at some of the photo's I think you will see why. She is built with 12 mm BS 1088 Okoume Marine plywood for her bottom and 6 mm for her sides. With the exception of the rudder the remainder of the boat is Honduras Mahogany. We use only West System Epoxy and additives in our boats. All the fasteners are silicon bronze as well as the hardware. The spars are native spruce and made by the student. All the necessary tools are supplied as well as individual instruction. Working together we can build this boat ready for paint and varnish in six 8 hour days.

For cost comparison go to WoodenBoat for their kit price with our completed boat price in our "Build a Boat" program. Bear in mind you will be working with me on a one to one basis to build your boat. This boat built well will retail for $5,500.

Tuition for Shellback: $3,100

Not included are oars, trailer, paint and varnish, or sail. We can however supply these items if you wish.
